The bachelor’s degree programme Regional Development and Policies of the European Union provides students with a comprehensive interdisciplinary foundation in economics, regional development, public administration, environmental studies and European integration. The programme focuses on understanding spatial, economic, social and environmental processes influencing regional development at national and European levels. Emphasis is placed on the principles, instruments and implementation of EU policies, project management, regional analysis and the role of public administration in democratic governance. Students develop analytical thinking, critical assessment of policy impacts, and the ability to interpret regional disparities, sustainability challenges and spatial development mechanisms within the broader socio-economic context of the European Union.

GRADUATE’S EMPLOYABILITY
Graduates are prepared for junior expert and analytical positions in European and international institutions, public administration at national and regional levels, non-governmental organizations and the private sector, particularly in areas related to regional development, strategic planning, project management and the implementation of EU policies and funds.
Applicant must submit the E-application form to study at SUA through the university’s designated portal or send the completed form via email to the Vice-Dean or the Faculty or the Contact Person for Foreign Affairs of the respective faculty.
The sum of the fee depends on the specific faculty and study program and it varies between 30 EUR and 65 EUR.
The proof of the payment has to be sent via email to the Vice-Dean for International Affairs of the respective faculty or the Contact Person for Forreign Affairs.

International applicants from EU Member States and from other three countries with which the Slovak Republic has signed a bilateral governmental agreement on recognition (Ukraine, Russia, China) shall generate a Recognition Statement via the following link:
https://uznavanie.minedu.sk/recognition-statement/ in the section Recognition Statement on the Level of Education.
If no recognition statement is published for the submitted educational document or for the country of origin of the applicant, the applicant is required to follow the academic recognition procedure (recognition of an educational qualification for the purpose of continuing studies and other purposes).

The processing of the application depends on the faculty – it may be handled either by the student or the designated faculty contact person.
The faculty or the student will collect all required documents, including:
– Completed Application Form
– Copy of the passport
– Notarized and translated copies of secondary education documents (graduation certificate and transcript of grades)
– Confirmation of eKolok payment (QR code)
Once the applicant’s educational documents have been successfully recognized, they will be invited to an online interview in English. The applicant may take the interview at any point during the admission process.
Based on the recognition of the previous education and the successful online interview, the applicant will receive a final admission decision to study at the university.
