The study program prepares experts for comprehensive food safety management throughout the food chain. It focuses on microbiological, chemical, toxicological, and sensory control of food, risk assessment, traceability, crisis management, and the application of EU and Slovak food legislation. Students gain practical skills in food authentication, sampling and analysis, auditing, accreditation, and ISO, BRC, and IFS systems. Graduates are prepared to lead food safety teams, communicate risks, and apply food safety culture in practice.

GRADUATE'S EMPLOYABILITY

Graduates find employment in food companies in food safety teams, in company laboratories, and in the areas of management, control, and internal and external audits. They will find employment in state and private laboratories focused on food control and safety, as well as specialists in hygienic, chemical, microbiological, and mycological control in accordance with Slovak and EU legislation. They can work in advisory and consulting services, accreditation systems, legislation and risk management in the food industry, distribution, trade and public catering. They can be employed in the implementation and management of ISO 22000, BRC and IFS standards, as inspectors of veterinary and food authorities, in public health offices, in education, in state and foreign institutions, and in cooperation with European control and scientific bodies.

General information about admission

Basic conditions of admission to the second degree of higher education at the FBFS SUA in Nitra

  1. The admission procedure for the II. degree of higher education at the FBFS SUA in Nitra is carried out in accordance with §55, §56, §57 and §58 of Act No.131/2002 on Higher Education and in accordance with the Study Regulations of the SUA in Nitra and the Statute of the FBFS SUA in Nitra.
  2. The basic condition for admission of a student to engineering studies is the completion of a first-degree study programme (Bc) in the same or a related field of study and its successful completion by a state
  3. The admission procedure for the degree of higher education at the FBFS SPU in Nitra will be carried out without entrance exams.

Further conditions of admission to the second degree of higher education at the FBFS SPU in Nitra

  1. One of the priorities of the FBFS SUA in Nitra is to ensure that applicants demonstrate the highest level of knowledge and aptitude for studying are admitted to study and to support such study programmes where there is a significant demand for graduates on the labour market.
  2. Applicants for study programmes at the degree of study who have successfully completed their bachelor's studies will be admitted based on the results achieved at the first level of university studies and the results achieved at the state examination.
  3. Applicants for the study programmes at the II. degree of study will be included in the waiting list on the basis of the points obtained according to the admission criteria (https://fbp.uniag.sk/sk/ing-stupen/), while the condition for admission to the second level of study will be obtaining at least 5 points.

  5. Foreign applicants from Member States of the European Union or States which are contracting parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area or citizens with permanent residence in a Member State will be admitted under the same conditions as citizens of the Slovak Republic.
  6. Foreign applicants or applicants who have completed the first degree of higher education abroad must submit a Decision on the Recognition of Educational Qualifications along with their application or Application Form, in addition to the mandatory attachments.
  7. Recognition decision (recognition of a degree without comparison) department) shall be issued by the Ministry of Education, Research, Development and Youth of the Slovak Republic, if the recognition of the degree is requested by an applicant whose proof of education was issued in the state with which the agreement was signed an international bilateral agreement, but also an applicant from any other country for the purpose of proving that the basic condition for admission to study is fulfilled. 8.The decision on the Recognition of an Educational Qualification (recognition of the qualification in a specific field of study) is issued by a university in the Slovak Republic that offers a study program in the same or a related field of study as stated in the document of completed higher education.   1. Applicants aspiring to pursue their studies in English at FBFS SUA in Nitra must demonstrate a minimum B2-level proficiency in the English language by successfully passing a standardized assessment.
  2. The annual tuition fee for study programs delivered exclusively in English at FBFS SUA in Nitra is 1500 EUR
