The doctoral study programme Landscape Engineering is focused on the study of processes in the country and on the interaction of human activities in the landscape space, taking into account a set of organizational, biological, agrotechnical and technicalconstruction arrangements solved in the country. The program is focused on the education of a graduate who dominate the principles and procedures of scientific work, in which he will apply approaches based on interdisciplinary contexts.

The aim of the study is to teach the student to analyze and understand the interaction in the country and use the acquired knowledge to eliminate negative impacts on the country. The concept of the study programme is based on interdisciplinarities and includes the issues of climate change, water management, land consolidation, soil protection and reclamation, nature and landscape protection, environmental management, waste management and circular management. The study is based on the use of the GIS tools and modern simulation tools that are applied by the analyzing the problems and looking for their optimal solutions. The student will acquire the knowledge of scientific, theoretical and experimental methods and procedures in the area of landscape and is able to bring own original solutions and strategies. During the study, emphasis is placed on the internationalization of study in the form of study stays and internships at one of the partner workplaces abroad. Graduates of the program are able to employ in the field of science, research and education, as well as in various leadership positions in a state and public administration, managerial positions of companies, design studios and can hold positions at the level of national and European authorities.

III. LEVEL OF STUDY (PHD)

Application Form Submission

The applicant must select a dissertation topic from those published on the respective faculty’s website. All PhD positions are also listed on the Euraxess Jobs and Opportunities portal.

Applicant must submit the E-application form to study at SUA through the university’s designated portal or send the completed form via email to the Vice-Dean for International Affairs or the Contact Person for Foreign Affairs of the respective faculty.

 

Payment of the fee for admission procedure

 The sum of the fee depends on the specific faculty and study program and it varies between 30 EUR and 65 EUR

The proof of the payment has to be sent via email to the Vice-Dean for International Affairs or the Contact Person for Foreign Affairs of the respective faculty.

Recognition of University Education Documents

Applicants must submit a copy of their undergraduate diploma and a transcript of records from their previous university studies.

Decision on recognition of documents on completed university education issued by the Ministry of Education, Research, Development and Youth of the Slovak Republic or by the Regional Office of Education in Nitra (https://uznavanie.minedu.sk/en/navigator/8)

Similar to the bachelor’s process, the applicant must submit a completed application formpassport scan and proof of payment for the application fee. Documents must also be notarized, translated, and sent to the Vice-Dean for International Affairs or the Contact Person for Foreign Affairs of the respective faculty

Framework Project

Applicants must submit a framework project outlining their research plan or study proposal, which is crucial for the doctoral admission process.

Online Interview

specialized online interview focused on the research topic and methodology will be part of the admission process.

Final Admission

The applicant’s admission will be confirmed based on the recognition of prior education, framework project, and a successful online interview.
