Frequently asked questions

What is the study form and what is the study method?

A study program is offered either in full-time or part-time form. The study method refers to the way in which educational goals are achieved. Educational activities can be delivered through in-person, distance, or combined methods. The Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra offers study programs through: · in-person (on-site) method · combined (blended) method

How does full-time study work at SUA in Nitra using in-person and combined methods?

Full-time study using the in-person method is characterized by daily student participation in educational activities (lectures and seminars), with direct contact between students and teachers. Classes are held on weekdays, from Monday to Friday. Full-time study using the combined (blended) method also involves regular participation in educational activities, but daily attendance at school is not required. A key advantage is flexibility – students study using MS Teams and electronic learning materials throughout the day, according to their own schedule. Students must have access to a computer and internet connection. Communication with teachers is possible via email, MS Teams, or other educational platforms. In-person classes take place only on Fridays and Saturdays, mainly through consultations or in weekly blocks. Full-time study in the combined method is tuition-free.

Is it still possible to study in the part-time form at SUA?

Yes, part-time study is still available for selected study programs. Please note that part-time study is subject to a tuition fee.

Which study method (in-person or combined) should I prefer, and which one is more advantageous for me?

The in-person method is recommended for high school graduates who plan to continue their studies and do not intend to work yet. This study method allows for direct contact with teachers, more effective interaction with classmates, better motivation, greater access to university resources, development of soft skills, and a stronger connection to the academic environment. The combined method is suitable for those interested in undergraduate and graduate studies who are currently employed and wish to further their education. We recommend the combined method for those studying alongside work. Compared to the in-person method, it requires a higher level of self-learning, the ability to independently develop the necessary skills, and a responsible approach to educational activities. It also demands more self-discipline. The requirements for successfully completing courses and the entire program are the same for both methods.
