The bachelor’s study programme regional development and policies of the European Union conveys knowledge of the legislative environment of public administration in the Slovak Republic and the EU, methods and techniques of concrete problem analysis, methods of management and administrative decision-making in public administration. The study programme graduates are able to use information databases, information and communication technologies, analytical tools for processing information and preparing programmes for socio-economic development. They control the principles of cooperation between local, regional and central institutions in state and self-government and the processes leading from the shift of political power to the preservation of justice. They understand the economic side of the activities of organizations, they comprehend the interrelationships between the activities of individual economic entities on an international scale, the national economy and the regional economy. They know the basic functioning mechanism of international grant schemes and are able to participate in the design of grant projects.

GRADUATE’S EMPLOYABILITY

In professional positions of international and European institutions and central, regional and local public administration institutions (e.g. public administration employee for regional development, public administration employee for development of business activities and investment opportunities, specialist for strategy and development in local government) and the non-profit sector, as well as the private sector, focused on the development of regions and reducing regional differences (e.g. project specialist in the public and private sphere).
